Eddie Alvarez makes eye-opening Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler prediction
Amidst the rollercoaster few weeks of speculation as to his next career move, Eddie Alvarez has taken the time to give his prediction for Conor McGregor's upcoming clash against Michael Chandler.
'The Underground King' was being linked to the PFL and many believed he would end up with the promotion following his departure from ONE Championship. While it seemed like a match made in heaven, this wasn't the case and the lightweight veteran has instead decided to offer his talents to BKFC.
While discussing the huge matchup during a recent interview on The MMA Hour, Eddie Alvarez insisted that if Michael Chandler refuses to use his wrestling, it will be a long night for him against somebody as fast and accurate as Conor McGregor:
"If I had to guess [a winner], Mike Chandler doesn't wrestle. If he stands with Conor, Conor's gonna knock him out. It's a mismatch because Mike Chandler's defense sucks, he doesn't have good boxing defense. He throws bombs, but Conor's way too fast and way too quick to get hit with anything Mike Chandler throws. I feel like Mike should wrestle and wrestle quickly and use that, and if he doesn't, it's gonna be a bad night for him."
Eddie Alvarez has shared the cage with both men and will have a clear understanding of where they can find success in this matchup.
Despite his high-level wrestling ability, Michael Chandler has chosen to mostly showcase his striking throughout his tenure with the UFC and has quickly made himself one of the must-watch talents in the sport.

Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler: When will the stars meet in the octagon?
'The Ultimate Fighter' (TUF) 31 will feature Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler as coaches in what is easily the most anticipated season of the show in a number of years.
Set to premiere on ESPN and ESPN+ on May 30, the world will get to witness the day-to-day lives of the coaches and fighters competing in this year's edition of TUF, with the season reported to end in August.
While the fight between McGregor and Chandler isn't expected to take place in August, the two can likely be expected to lock horns later on in the year after the Irishman returns to the USADA pool and completes the mandatory six months of drug testing.
