Exclusive: Road to UFC finalist Anshul Jubli gives his prediction for Islam Makhachev vs. Alexander Volkanovksi

Anshul Jubli is set to take on Jeka Saragih in the Road to UFC finals on February 4. The event, meant to scout Asian MMA talent, will feature on the prelims card of UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Spivac at the Apex in Las Vegas.

An undefeated lightweight from India, Jubli is looking forward to the upcoming title clash of his division between Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovksi. While the 28-year-old regards Volkanovksi as the most complete fighter, he expects Makhachev to have a strength advantage over 'The Great'.

According to Jubli, Makhachev will use his weight advantage to successfully defend his title against Volkanovski at UFC 284 in Perth. 'King of Lions' said in an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA:

"I think Islam should win because he's a bigger fighter. But Volkanovski is very skilled, I think he's the most complete fighter in MMA right now. I truly believe that. He's the most complete and very intelligent, his cardio is superb and his skills are fabulous. But I think because of the weight advantage and the strength advantage, Islam will take this fight."

Anshul Jubli will look to finish his opponent at the Road to UFC finals

Anshul Jubli will be the first Indian fighter to earn a UFC contract if he can defeat Jeka Saragih on February 4. Having started his MMA training just four years ago, Jubli believes overconfidence is his superpower.

'King of Lions' believes Indian fighters are immensely talented and have not been able to make a mark so far due to lack of adequate coaching. However, Jubli considers himself almost at par with active UFC fighters after having trained at renowned gyms like Tiger Muay Thai in Thailand and SOMA Fight Club in Indonesia.

The 28-year-old carries the same confidence into his fight against Saragih, who he believes is not of the same caliber. 'King of Lions' further told Sportskeeda MMA:

"He's very good. He's explosive and everything. But I don't think he's at my level. I truly believe he's not my level."

To back up his words, Anshul Jubli will go in with the intent of finishing the fight as early as possible. The Indian standout added:

"I'll finish him. My gameplan is to finish him. I'll not let this fight go to three rounds. So yeah, I'm planning to finish this fight as early as possible."
