Henry Cejudo coached Jon Jones in the exact same technique that ultimately finished Cyril Gane at UFC 285

Henry Cejudo was part of the team that helped Jon Jones prepare for his heavyweight debut against Ciryl Gane at UFC 285 this weekend. Following Jones' first-round submission win, Cejudo uploaded footage of a technique he showed 'Bones' in their final training session that helped Jones secure a victory.

Cejudo, a former Olympic gold medalist in freestyle wrestling, shared a posititional detail with 'Bones', which the heavyweight champion performed almost identically during the bout.

Henry Cejudo uploaded a side-by-side video on YouTube of his demonstration and Jon Jones using the technique against Ciryl Gane.

"Let's say you have Gane here, switch position into something bigger. Know when you have a position locked, because the last thing you want to do Jon, is blow the wads in your hands and in your wrists. You might be in this position, don't fight it too much, especially if you know he's gonna get out. If you know he's gonna get out, then front cover..."

Jon Jones became the latest two-division champion in UFC history at UFC 285, a goal that took three years to realize. 'Bones' vacated the light heavyweight title in August 2020 following his victory over Dominick Reyes earlier that year and announced his move to heavyweight.

Jones spent the next three years bulking up in preparation for the increased size of his opponents, and weighed in at 248 pounds against Gane.

Henry Cejudo and Aljamain Sterling forced to be separated backstage at UFC 285

Henry Cejudo will be coming out of retirement to face Aljamain Sterling for the bantamweight title. According to reports, the bout is scheduled to take place at UFC 288 on May 6, but the promotion is yet to confirm the same.

'Triple C' retired from MMA following his victory over Dominick Cruz in 2020, but his decision to step away from the sport has since been labeled as a contract negotiation tactic which ultimately backfired.

Both Cejudo and Sterling attended UFC 285 this weekend, and were forced to be separated by security when their paths crossed backstage. The pair exchanged words in person following months of verbal sparring online.

"May 6th I'm gonna bury your a**. May 6th I'm gonna bury you. You corny a**. Shut up. Get out of here, shut up!"
