"I thought it was live" - When Theo Von hilariously recalled tweeting about a seven-year-old UFC event after smoking weed and cracked Sean O'Malley up
Theo Von once recounted tweeting about a years-old UFC event while under the influence, which left Sean O'Malley in fits of laughter. The 44-year-old renowned podcaster is a passionate MMA enthusiast, often spotted at UFC events and shares a strong camaraderie with numerous high-profile fighters.
During O'Malley's UFC 292 bantamweight title bout against former champion Aljamain Sterling in August 2023, Von appeared in one of 'Suga's' fight week vlogs.
In their conversation, Von shared a hilarious story about watching an old UFC event after getting high on weed and live-tweeting his reactions to the action:
"I was smoking weed one time, and I was watching UFC Fight Pass, and I didn't realize that... I thought it was live. So I started tweeting about some f**king fight. Oh, I tweeted like I'm f**king three rounds in. I'm hashtagging like UFC 160 or something. The next day, I got up and texted Brendan Schaub, like, 'Dude, that fight was f**king crazy.' [He replied] 'I don't know what you mean, that was seven years ago.'"
Von's story had O'Malley and his coach, Tim Welch, in uproarious laughter. 'Suga' responded:
"That's f**king funny, bro... Drugs will do that to you."

When Theo Von inquired if Sean O'Malley ever thought about parting ways with coach Tim Welch
During the same vlog, Theo Von asked Sean O'Malley and his coach, Tim Welch, who have been working together for many years, if they had ever considered going their separate ways:
"Have you guys almost ever called it quits as partners?"
'Suga' replied that he and Welch share an incredibly strong bond and have no intention of separating:
"Never. Look where we’re at, baby. We’re on a f**king rocketship. I haven’t lost yet. If I lose this fight [UFC 292], then I’m gonna have to switch some sh*t up." [23:25]
O'Malley went on to knockout Aljamain Sterling at UFC 292, capturing the bantamweight title. However, after successfully defending his belt against his former rival Marlon Vera at UFC 299, 'Suga' lost the championship to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306 in September.
