"It was like a throat push" - Jake Paul's coach details backstage altercation with UFC star Nate Diaz
Nate Diaz's entourage got into a backstage melee with Jake Paul's team while 'The Problem Child' was in the dressing room preparing to step into the biggest test of his boxing career against Anderson Silva this past weekend.
Jake Paul's breathing coach, Lukis Mac, claimed during a recent Q&A session on Instagram that Diaz grabbed his neck in an attempt to push him away.
According to Mac's version of the story, the breathing expert intended to mind his own business and keep his nose out of the scuffle. Nate Diaz got the impression that a member of Paul's team was charging at him and grabbed his neck to push him away:
"Can't really see what's happening in the video, so let me explain. Firstly, people ask that Nate slapped you. No! Nate didn't slap me. He pushed me back with one hand and it was like a throat push to get me back."
Paul's coach further added that he had no forethought of partaking in the fight and, in fact, was trying to be the peacemaker:
"It's a volatile situation, it could go bad really quick. I'm not there to fight, I'm there as a peacemaker. So, I tried to de-escalate the situation and I also wanted to walk past to see someone. As I walked forward to bring some positive vibes to the situation, obviously Nate wasn't having that, so he zeroed in and boom! Pushed me back."
Both the teams were separated before the situation evolved into a full blown brawl. The Instagram story has since been deleted from his handle.
Jake Paul claims that Nate Diaz's team only picks fights with people who cannot fight
Following the biggest win of his boxing career against Anderson Silva, Jake Paul seized the occasion to call out MMA superstar Nate Diaz for a potential fight inside the boxing ring.
The YouTuber-turned-puglist also lambasted Diaz's attempt to pick a fight backstage with his team and advised the Stockton native to stop fighting people for free.
In a recent video posted by popular YouTuber George Janko, Jake Paul questioned the belligerent mentality of the Diaz squad while also claiming that the entourage tried to pick fights at clubs the same week:
"Bro all they did was throw s**t. They're pu***es bro. They only want to fight people who can't fight. That's their whole thing. They got into three fights at the club this week. They're literally just f**king troublemakers bro."
