UFC News: 'Jacare' Souza calls out UFC middleweight champ Michael Bisping

Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza calls out middleweight champ Michael Bisping

Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza is one of the most feared 185-pound fighters on the planet today and is seeking a shot at UFC gold very soon. After his first round thrashing of Vitor Belfort in their co-main event meeting at UFC 198 this past May, Souza is one of the front runners for a shot at 185-pound champ Michael Bisping.

He took to Instagram earlier today and told ‘The Count’ to stop ducking him and step inside the Octagon once and for all:

"Stop running from me, Bisping. It’s time to face a real contender. Real champion fight a real contender. You need to show to the world that you can be a real champion. I’m next. You wanna fight me."

Bisping won the title in dramatic fashion in the main event of UFC 199 in June, when he knocked out the then champion, Luke Rockhold, in the main event of the evening. Bisping would win his first UFC title, after nearly a decade fighting under the promotion’s banner, accomplishing a life-long dream.

‘The Count’ went on to successfully defend his title in a five-round war, against longtime rival Dan Henderson in the main event of UFC 204, in which Bisping nearly lost, after eating a couple of ‘H-Bombs’ during the contest.

Henderson’s efforts would not be enough, however, as Bisping would go on to take home a unanimous decision victory to retain his title and retire Henderson in his final appearance.

Bisping has yet to be booked for another title defence as of now, but a bout against Souza would certainly be one of the most difficult of his career.
