Jake Paul challenges British former boxer to beat Anderson Silva and then fight him in response to 'clown' jibe
Jake Paul might have his next boxing opponent lined up.
On February 26, ‘The Problem Child’ is taking another step in his boxing journey by facing a legitimate boxer, Tommy Fury. The former YouTuber seemed locked into his upcoming fight, but he’s now called out someone else for a future boxing match.
Several days ago, former super-middleweight world champion Carl Froch joined IFL TV to discuss various topics. The new movement of celebrity/influencer boxers was brought up, leading Froch to say this about Paul:
"I've got nothing against him at all. Just don't call yourself a professional fighter because you're not. He's just a performing clown, as they say."
Paul wasn’t happy with Froch’s comments. ‘The Problem Child’ called out the former world champion on Twitter by saying:
“Carl Froch mad because I made more in 1 year than he made his whole career. You want the payday. I get it. So let’s do this, fight Anderson Silva @SpiderAnderson on my next card & if you get lucky & beat him, then we can step in the ring & you make your career payday. LMK.”
Paul last fought in October 2022, defeating Anderson Silva by unanimous decision. The 26-year-old has maintained a good relationship with Silva, leading to his hopes of booking Froch vs. ‘The Spider.’ The Cleveland native also used the new rivalry to compare his early boxing record against the former world champion.
Take a look at Jake Paul calling out Carl Froch below:
Jake Paul compares his seventh boxing opponent to Carl Froch’s
Jake Paul currently holds a professional boxing record of 6-0, with most of his wins against MMA fighters. As a result, there have been plenty of haters questioning the legitimacy of his skills due to his opponents' boxing experience. Paul recently defended himself on Twitter by comparing his upcoming opponent to Carl Froch’s seventh opponent:
“Next Sunday, 185 pounds, 8 rounds, 6-0 me versus 8-0 Tommy Fury. Side note: Carl Froch’s 7th fight was against a guy who was 3-5 and ended his career at 5-31. Carl the Clown. #PaulFury @MostVpromotions”
Froch holds a professional boxing record of 33-2, with his only losses being against Andre Ward and Mikkel Kessler. The 45-year-old last fought in 2014, but he’s been vocal about wanting to fight Paul, discrediting the former YouTuber several times. Before focusing on his next opponent, ‘The Problem Child’ has a tough test in Saudi Arabia against the undefeated Tommy Fury.
