Jake Shields reveals Mike Jackson's coach told him he's embarrassed with latter's "black nationalism"
Former UFC fighter Jake Shields has revealed details about what Mike Jackson's coach has told him, following his physical altercation with the welterweight fighter at the UFC Performance Institute (PI).
The animosity between the pair started on Twitter after Jackson labeled Shields a racist for some of his remarks and actions throughout his career. The 43-year-old has flat out denied Jackson's claims, which eventually led to their altercation at the PI.
According to Jake Shields, he decided to slap and tackle Mike Jackson to the ground after the welterweight fighter called him a "Nazi." The scuffle lead to the viral video of Shields mounted on the back of the 37-year-old and holding him to the ground.
In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Jake Shields stated that there have been multiple lies in the stories by Mike Jackson whilst also revealing he had called Jackson's coach, who claimed that the fighter was "scared" of him:
"On Twitter he started calling me a Nazi for no reason. I had no idea who he was... I'm extremely respected in the fight industry, everyone for the most part loves me and nobody has called me a racist, nor should they... I saw him [Mike Jackson] at the PI and I got in the cage and said let's fight. He kept making excuses saying we'd fight in Houston... I called his trainer and his trainer said he was scared of me. His trainer apologized and said he was an embarrassment... He said it's the last couple of months he's got into this black nationalism, hating white people."

Mike Jackson presses charges against Jake Shields after altercation
UFC welterweight Mike Jackson has decided to press charges against Jake Shields following their fight at the UFC PI.
The former Strikeforce middleweight slapped Jackson across the face before tackling him to the ground and mounting him. 'The Truth' can be heard pleading with bystanders to help him, which eventually led to the pair being separated.
In an interview with MMA Junkie, the 37-year-old told his side of the story whilst also revealing he would press charges as he believes he was assaulted by Shields:
“Yeah, well, I’m gonna follow up with the PI. I told them, 'Hey, press charges.' They said ok... You can’t just walk around assaulting people and think there’s no consequences for your actions. You can’t do that. You know what I’m saying? And all the people who support him, cool, support him. These people don’t matter either.”
Following the interview, Jackson continued to push his belief that the 43-year-old is a racist and referred to him as a Nazi once again on Twitter:
“A thug nazi can't humiliate me @jakeshieldsajj. And I guess this is my best comeback.”
