Jiri Prochazka shares a weird time when USADA came to test him
Jiri Prochazka was once at a concert when USADA showed up to drug test him.
USADA isn’t concerned about fighters’ social lives. When they need blood or urine, UFC fighters better be prepared to supply it.
‘Denisa,’ the former UFC light heavyweight champion, has learned this lesson the hard way. During an interview with Shakiel Mahjouri, Prochazka shared a story about USADA unconventionally drug-testing him. He said:
“I was at one concert, like there was music. They came to this action, and they had to test me, so I went with them and gave them all the blood and urine, and then I came back to enjoy the party.”
Prochazka wasn’t the only UFC fighter to get an inconvenient USADA visit. Paulo Costa was drug tested during the final phase of his UFC 278 weight cut while he was dehydrated.
Kamaru Usman was also unhappy when USADA woke him up at 5 am. Finally, Alexander Volkanovski revealed that USADA drug tested him four hours before fighting Max Holloway at UFC 251.

Jiri Prochazka mentions talking to USADA about his high test rate
USADA has kept a close eye on Jiri Prochazka. The drug-testing agency tested 3,286 athletes across dozens of sports in 2022. Prochazka managed to be the most tested athlete by a wide margin. ‘Denisa’ provided 64 samples to USADA, the next highest being Lauren DeCrescenzo (cycling), who tested 29 times.
During the same interview with Shakiel Mahjouri, Prochazka had this to say about his high test rate:
“Yes, I spoke with them [USADA]. I spoke with them many times and by my manager. All the time, they can do that, so let’s do that. It doesn’t matter.”
Maybe USADA believes Prochazka’s title run is too good to be true. The former RIZIN champion made his UFC debut in July 2020. Since then, ‘Denisa’ has finished all three of his opponents, including Glover Teixeira for the UFC light heavyweight title.
Prochazka was scheduled to defend the title against Teixeira at UFC 282. He was forced to pull out after a severe shoulder injury, which led to him vacating the title. Glover Teixeira and Jamahal Hill will now compete for the 205-pound crown at UFC 283. ‘Denisa’ is expected to fight the winner after recovering.
