Johnny Walker reveals plans to become two-division UFC champion and then fight Anthony Joshua or Tyson Fury in boxing

Johnny Walker has put on a strong run of performances inside the octagon and finds himself in the top 5, closing in on a title shot. But his plans are much bigger than that. During a recent interview, the Brazilian revealed his intention of earning champ-champ status in the UFC before forcing his way into a huge boxing bout.

The unorthodox light heavyweight is a physical specimen who often uses his size to overwhelm opponents if his natural knockout power hasn't already done the job. He burst into the promotion with a number of great showings but hit a bump in the road — winning just one of five fights — that he is just now getting over.

While discussing what's next for himself, Johnny Walker laid out his plans to capture titles at both 205lbs and heavyweight. This is in order to gain enough leverage to fight Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua in the boxing ring.

"When I finish my career in the UFC, I want to fight some boxing. I love boxing and I want to fight some great champions one day. I want to get two belts in the UFC, make my name, [and make] my statement there, and when I'm done in the UFC, I'm gonna have the name and respect so I can challenge the big names on this sport of boxing. Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, I want to make history. I do want to fight big heavyweights like this, I wanna make enough to deserve to fight them."

Walker's size and power would likely translate well into the boxing ring. Check out the South American's plans in the video below.

Johnny Walker's next fight: Who is the powerhouse interested in facing?

Having just fought on May 13, it could be some time until we get to see Walker return to the octagon. But that didn't stop him from naming a number of opponents he'd be willing to face next.

Claiming a top 5 ranking with his most recent victory, the titan set his sights on two potential matchups in which a win could possibly earn him a shot at UFC gold.

Johnny Walker called for a fight against either the winner of the forthcoming Jan Blachowicz vs. Alex Pereira brawl or be the backup for the rumored light heavyweight title clash between Jamahal Hill and Jiri Prochazka.
