"Khabib wouldn't get up"- Henry Cejudo says Khabib Numagomedov won't be able to wrestle well with an NCAA Champion
Henry Cejudo gave his opinion on the ongoing debate between American wrestling vs. Dagestani wrestling. The debate stems from Michael Chandler mentioning that American wrestling is better during his pre-fight media availability.
Cejudo was joined by Michael Bisping on his YouTube channel and claimed that UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov would have trouble against a collegiate wrestler:
“American wrestling is better than Dagestani wrestling when it comes to the sport of mixed-martial-arts. It is because American-style wrestling is the Folkstyle wrestling, it is when we’re able to control. If you were to put Khabib (Nurmagomedov) with an NCAA champ or NCAA wrestler and you just have them work top-bottom with them not knowing anything about MMA, Khabib wouldn’t get up. He wouldn’t.”
‘Triple C’ then added that the reason the Dagestanis have been successful with their wrestling is because they haven’t fought an opponent with an elite wrestling background:
“A lot of these guys wouldn’t get up. They just happen to keep going up against guys that don’t have that Division I (NCAA) kind of status. The other one that I could think of was Justin Gaethje, but Justin Gaethje hasn’t wrestled in probably a decade. And he even said it, he’s like, ‘Dude, once I was done with wrestling, that’s one thing that I never wanted to do ever again, was to wrestle because it was hell.’ These are the words that came out of his mouth because the sport is so f***in hard.”

Henry Cejudo is eligible to return to the octagon
During his conversation with Michael Bisping, former UFC two-division champion Henry Cejudo revealed that he is officially eligible to return to the octagon as he has been back in the USADA testing pool for 6-months.
Cejudo mentioned that the UFC wants him to return and challenge bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling in the co-main event at UFC 284 in February. He added that he would be ready and willing to fight either in February or March and that it will depend on who the promotion wants him to fight.
‘Triple C’ still has long-term aspirations as he intends to regain the bantamweight championship and also challenge for the featherweight championship in hopes of becoming the first-ever three-division champion in UFC history.
