MMA News: Alvarez vs Nurmagomedov shifted to UFC 206, but McGregor ready for UFC 205
Post UFC 200, all eyes in the MMA community are on the UFC 205 fight card which is the maiden UFC event at Madison Square Garden in New York. The event is expected to surpass the standards of UFC 200 and then some.
The event is expected to be one of the biggest pay-per-views in the history. With that said, many wished the money man Conor McGregor would get a second chance to fight for the UFC Lightweight Title, but only yesterday UFC President Dana White cleared the air by stating that The Notorious won’t be fighting Eddie Alvarez.
The main event spot in the title fight has been granted to the undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov who is 23-0 throughout his MMA career, and will go one on one with UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez for his title, if the tweet is to be believed.
McGregor showed little appreciation for being ousted from UFC 205 and put out a strange tweet that was unclear to whom it pointed.
Some reports had stated Conor to be under medical suspension due to his injury obtained from the Diaz rematch, whilst some reveal that McGregor is healthy and can compete soon.
This year was promised to be the McGregors as he predicted to hold two UFC titles simultaneously, thus being the first one to do so. But he was unlucky when then-UFC lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos had to be withdrawn from the title fight, leading to the first Diaz fight.
Now McGregor intends to achieve the never before conquered feat at the world's most famous arena- Madison Square Garden. Let’s see how it all pans out.
