MMA News: Anderson Silva spars with his 17-year old son. A future world champion in the making.

Are we looking at a future UFC champion?

In the realm of battle games, we have often seen great legends passing down their skills to the next generation who prove to do justice to their parent’s legacy.

Laila Ali opposed her father, Muhammad Ali’s, wishes and went on to be the most dominant female fighter, Floyd Mayweather Jr’s popularity of his notable undefeated streak transformed his family legacy into a whole different level.

Now, in the world of MMA, we may possibly see the best ‘legend and son’ duo ever to be witnessed by anyone in history.

In the footage, we see the Anderson Silva spar with his son who seems to have mastered his dad’s movements and maybe can put it to some future use in the Octagon. Kalyl Silva appears to be the mirror reflection of his father.

Surely, we can expect Silva’s legacy to be carried forward if his son opts to walk in his father’s steps.

Spider’s fans must be eager to see the young Silva achieve great feats, hopefully, surpass his dad’s achievements. The level of athleticism is elevating every year with the demand for better development in the tough competition.

Back to Silva Senior, the legend has been on a losing streak that included a no contest result, since 2012 after his loss to Chris Weidman. The Spider now is 41 years old, but we still expect him to do wonders.

The last four years in his legendary career had strange outcomes: His first loss to Weidman came via his own accord; the rematch loss was an accident where Silva’s leg snapped while Weidman timely checked it. The super fight with Nick Diaz was initially won by him but was later turned into a ‘No Contest’ as Spider tested positive for Drostanolone and androsterone.

The fight with Michael Bisping had a controversial ending with Silva losing by unanimous decision, despite Bisping getting badly knocked out with a devastating knee that many assumed was a KO.

His recent fight at UFC 200 was signed on a two days short notice, with none other than UFC lightweight champion Daniel Cormier who time and time again took Silva to the ground, applying enough pressure to bag a unanimous victory.

Anderson Silva is undoubtedly one of the best fighters in combat sports history, and will always be known as that. But it seems like the Silva name isn’t quite done yet.
