MMA News: Dan Henderson doesn't have any desire to buddy up with Conor McGregor!
Conor McGregor is the draw every fighter wants but only a few get. So it’s no real shock that fighters pile on the criticism when given an opportunity to speak about the Irishman.
However, Dan Henderson, who just lost his retirement title fight against current UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping, has no agenda of that sort. Regardless, ‘Hendo’ expressed his displeasure over McGregor and didn’t show much love for the UFC’s top star when speaking to TMZ.
The MMA legend joined in session with TMZ officials on their show- ‘TMZ Sports’ that aired on FS1. Henderson said that he respects McGregor as a fighter but didn’t come close to like his persona. According to him 'the two don't click'.
Looks like Donald Cerrone is right after all. Not many love The Notorious McGregor in the UFC. Fighters in the past have tried to bag a million dollar paycheck by talking trash, but sometimes it takes more than just two to tango.
Many UFC fighters have shown their displeasure with the fact that McGregor is offered seven to eight figure checks after a few fights in the Octagon, while many UFC fighters have been paid way less than $100,000 for fighting more than ten times in the UFC.
Even a champion like Demetrius Johnson who has a record of 8 title defence struggles to negotiate a champion’s deserving pay packet for his action-packed title fights.
Dan Henderson retired from MMA after his final five-round fight against Micheal ‘The Count’ Bisping for the UFC title in Manchester Arena, England. The American wrestler fought hard against The Count in a close fight that finally went to the Englishman by unanimous decision.
Henderson is the only person to hold two titles simultaneously in Pride FC history- Pride FC Welterweight and Middleweight championship and is also a former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion.
