MMA News: Fabian Edwards and Mike Shipman go at each other at Bellator Europe 6 weigh-ins
The rivalry between MMA Middleweight opponents Fabian Edwards and Mike Shipman flared up and exploded into a face-off even before they could step into the Octagon.
The fighters of the Middleweight bout on the main card of Bellator Europe 6 greeted each other with aggression during the weigh-ins ceremony ahead of the Saturday night's event.
The two share a long-time rivalry
While most of the other fighters completed their weigh-ins in a more or less cordial manner, they went at each other violently and their team members had to intervene and forcefully keep the two away from each other.
Main event star Michael 'Venom' Page was present during the incident and did his part in keeping the fighters apart.
Shipman stepped onto the scale first, and when he was done, Edwards made it a point to engage in a staring match with Shipman as he stood on the weighing device. It started with heated verbal exchange once Edwards was done, which soon transformed into raised hands and a violent scuffle before the bystanders stepped in.
The feud between Edwards and Shipman dates back to their BAMMA days and therefore the rivalry between them is a long-standing one. However, they never actually got to go face to face in their previous promotion, but with Bellator's upcoming event in London, that is about to change.
