MMA News: Nick Diaz is set to make a comeback

He is back!

The Diaz brothers are two of the most interesting fighters the world has ever seen. Nick Diaz is recognised for trash talking and taunting his opponents in the Octagon. After his fight with Anderson Silva, the Stockton native was suspended after testing positive for marijuana metabolites. Now Dana White states Nick Diaz will be back in action soon.

“Nick wants to fight,” White told, “The Buzzer” on FOX Sports. “Nick’s ready to go again. I’ve got to figure that out.”

The BJJ black belt last fought at UFC 183 against Anderson Silva in a middleweight bout in a losing effort, but the loss was deemed no contest as both men tested positive for banned substances.

‘Spider’ Silva tested for steroids during the post-fight test. Hence, both men had to face consequences with Diaz almost facing a five-year ban.

The ban was later shortened to 18 months of suspension with a percentage of his undisclosed pay from his Silva fight to be paid as fine. Nick Diaz hasn’t enjoyed a very successful career in the last four years. He bagged his last victory over BJ Penn at UFC 137 in 2011.

Diaz is one of the most sensational fighters in the UFC. He has trashed talked his way into getting to two title fights; the first for the Interim UFC Welterweight Title against Carlos Condit and then for UFC Welterweight Championship against Georges St-Pierre.

He gained recognition when he became the Strikeforce Welterweight Champion at Strikeforce: Miami when he defeated Marius Zaromskis. He defended the title three times. The Stockton fighter is also known for his fight against BJ Penn, upon his return to the UFC.

If things go well between Dana White and Georges St-Pierre, Nick Diaz certainly wouldn’t mind a rematch.
