MMA News: Rockhold tries his luck in part time modelling

Great in the Octagon, great-looking outside it

Being an MMA fighter is one of the hardest things one can ever do, it’s hard on the fighter’s body as well as hard on the pocket. But fortunately for the former UFC Middleweight Champion, Luke Rockhold, he can put his good looks to some use.

Rolling the dice and winning a handful of modeling deals with newly launched Grapes and Fashion Week, Rockhold expects to fetch financially much better in modeling than being a pro-fighter.

The new career plan was something that was on the horizon after losing his title to fellow UFC fighter Michael Bisping. He says the potential seven-figure pay packet from his new career will support his wait until the right fight is offered by the UFC.

"So, it’s about making the right move next, and making it worth my while. I’m not going to just go out there and put my body on the line when I can get paid that much more in this world [modeling]. So, if they make it worth my while, I’d love to come back.”

He admits to still having some more fights left under the UFC banner but wants to succeed as an entrepreneur, thus also moving on from his loss to Michael Bisping at UFC 199.

About his potential return to the Octagon, he revealed that he spoke to the UFC on having a fight at UFC 205 which will be the first ever UFC event held at Madison Sqaure Garden.

He also shed some light on UFC’s plan at MSG, in wanting to book a tournament involving him, Ronaldo Souza, Yoel Romero and Chris Weidman, to decide the number one contender for the Middleweight title.
