MMA News Roundup: Dana White comments on Colby Covington's UFC future, Andrew Tate's team hits out at trolls, fans suspect Conor McGregor underwent plastic surgery
Welcome to today's edition of Sportskeeda's daily MMA News Roundup, where we present the biggest UFC updates and other stories from the world of mixed martial arts.
In today's issue, we talk about Colby Covington's next fight, Andrew Tate's team lashing out at critics, and more.
#3. Colby Covington has been offered fights by the UFC
Colby Covington has been out of action since his UFC 272 battle against friend-tuned-foe Jorge Masvidal last year.
He has been silent on social media as well, with the exception of occasional predictions. It is certainly uncharacteristic of 'Chaos', but also understandable given his ongoing legal battle with Masvidal over their street altercation.
However, Dana White has revealed that the promotion is in regular touch with Covington, who has been offered fights. After UFC 285, White was asked about a potential Shavkat Rakhmonov vs. Colby Covington matchup and he agreed it would be "a fun one."
Shedding further light on Covington, White said:
"He's ready to fight and he's ready to fight anybody. I know we've reached out to him for a couple of different fights and he said yes to it, but it just didn't work out."
Check out White's comments in the video below:
There are rumors of Covington being booked against Khamzat Chimaev, but no official announcements have been made yet.
#2. Andrew Tate's representative releases statement on internet trolls
Andrew Tate's baldness has always been a subject of mockery on the internet. It has taken a whole new form since his imprisonment.
In one of the recent tweets posted by his team, Tate claimed that he was barely able to recognize himself in jail, with a "long beard" and "head full of hair."
Social media trolls took this opportunity to make fun of Tate, given in all of his recent pictures, he is showing clear signs of male pattern baldness - a far cry from how he described himself.
Lashing out at the critics, Tate's team reached out to TMZ and presented a statement in reaction to the situation:
"The peculiar online fascination with Andrew's hair has proven, as a society, we care less about the potential dangers of false accusations and more about how people look."
Tate allegedly even demanded a hairstylist be sent to prison for grooming purposes.
#1. Did Conor McGregor have plastic surgery? The internet wants to know
On a night that saw Jon Jones become the new heavyweight champion and Valentina Shevchenko dethroned, Conor McGregor still managed to get 50,000+ hits on Google Search.
This shows how the Irishman continues to remain relevant in every way possible, despite not having fought for close to two years.
Most recently, his pictures and videos stirred up the theory that he had undergone plastic surgery treatment. Several fans failed to recognize the former UFC double champion and pointed out noticeable changes in his physique.
Some wondered if he had gotten botox, while others called the picture a "deep fake" or "AI-generated."
However, there has been no news of McGregor getting plastic surgery or any other cosmetology treatment done on his face.
