#3. Darren Till asked for UFC release to recover from knee issues

While most people thought the UFC had cut Darren Till for his poor performance, the reality is different. Turns out, Till himself requested to be released from the promotion to recover from health issues and pursue other interests.

In an interview with ESPN's Brett Okamoto, 'The Gorilla' revealed that he could no longer complete his lingering knee troubles. He needed to use certain medicines that might not pass the USADA screening, which is why he made the decision.

"I want to get some injections in my knee and really take care of my knees. Some of the stuff I want to inject into my knee, am I going to pass some of these [UFC anti-doping drug] tests? There are a lot of hurdles. Maybe I'll get [knee] surgery."

Till clarified that the UFC and Hunter Campbell supported him throughout his struggles.

Aljamain Sterling vs. Henry Cejudo has long been targeted for the next bantamweight title fight. The fight is reportedly set for UFC 288 on May 6, as per Sterling and Cejudo, but the promotion's website is yet to update the event.
