MMA News Roundup: Mike Tyson faces new rape allegation, UFC middleweight removed from the roster, Conor McGregor offered TUF coaching role

Welcome to today's edition of Sportskeeda's daily MMA News Roundup, where we present the biggest UFC updates and other stories from the world of mixed martial arts.

In today's issue, we talk about Mike Tyson facing rape charges, Conor McGregor potentially coaching The Ultimate Fighter again, and more.

#3 Mike Tyson facing $5 million lawsuit for rape allegation

Mike Tyson is being sued after being accused of rape under New York's Adult Survivors Act.

The boxing legend previously served time in prison after being convicted of rape in February 1992. Now, a different alleged victim has come forward to accuse Tyson of similar sexual crimes.

She claims the boxer violated her in the early 1990s and she seeks $5 million in damages.

New York's Adult Survivors Act, which got passed on May 24, 2022, allows a "one-year lookback window for survivors of sexual assault that occurred when they were over the age of 18 to sue their abusers regardless of when the abuse occurred."

The plaintiff claimed in her affidavit that due to the "violent" incident, she has experienced anxiety, depression, and addiction, among other things, and has faced continuous difficulty in developing healthy relationships since.

#2. UFC middleweight Kyle Daukaus removed from the roster

The UFC has let go of middleweight prospect Kyle Daukaus after he fought out his contract.

After making an unsuccessful debut in 2020 as a short-notice replacement for Ian Heinisch at UFC on ESPN: Poirier vs. Hooker, Daukaus carved out a less-than-impressive run in the promotion, with only two wins under his name. In his last two outings, he was knocked out by Roman Dolidze and Eryk Anders, which possibly paved his way out of the UFC.

Before signing with the world's top MMA promotion, 'The D'Arce Knight' had an unblemished 9-0 record.

#1. Conor McGregor offered to coach on TUF again

While the MMA world continued to wonder about Conor McGregor's return, the Irishman was apparently offered a chance to coach on The Ultimate Fighter again.

In a rare articulate post on Instagram, McGregor revealed that the offer was made and noted that he's ready for it.

McGregor previously featured on the reality fight show in the 22nd season, where he went up against Urijah Faber. 'The Notorious' ensured the season was must-see TV with his signature trash talk.

This show is also where Conor McGregor would predict T.J. Dillashaw's "disloyalty" towards Faber's team and call him a 'snake in the grass' - a moment that would later become a part of the MMA lore.

After the news broke, UFC fans began to speculate who could potentially be McGregor's opponent should he accept the offer. Michael Chandler, Jorge Masvidal, and Tony Ferguson were among the names floated.

Chandler has since showed interest in the matter, which could be a good sign for those who want to see this explosive matchup.
