Oscar De La Hoya offers to train Ronda Rousey for free

Think *views into the future*

Yes, it is true. Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya talks about offering free professional boxing training. But there is a teeny tiny validation criteria to this. This offer is only valid to Ronda Rousey.

After her bout with world class boxing champion and now UFC Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm, Rousey's boxing skills have been put to question. With all due respect and a deserving credential of being called the Champion Ronda Rousey has been offered training by boxers like Floyd Mayweather Jr. and now De La Hoya.

In mere admiration of UFC Champion fighter, De La Hoya says that he desires to talk to her and even help hone her boxing skills. He says, “I would do it for free...I love the girl...what she's going through, especially now, if can contact her and get a hold of her and talk to her for like 10 minutes, I mean, that's like, wow, I would love to do that...she's a gal who has transcended the sport and can do a lot for boxing.”

He says that he understands what the former undefeated champion is going through currently. De La Hoya suggested that suffering her first defeat will just be a difficult time for her.
The Golden Boy Promotions head explains his relativity to Rowdy's feelings as he recalls being in the same boat, once upon a time.

He recollects how the same thing happened with him in the 32nd bout of his career with Puerto Rico's legendary fighter Felix ‘Tito’ Trinidad. This was the time in 1999 when De La Hoya was unsuccessful in defending his World Boxing Council for the eighth time.

Trinidad at that time was aiming to ensure his International Boxing Federation title for the 15th time. He says “he had dominated the early rounds” but victory had the name of Trinidad.

As mentioned previously, even Floyd Mayweather Jr aims at lending a hand to Rousey. Despite the feuds going on between the two, Mayweather says, “I want Ronda Rousey to hold her head up high and don't let this discourage you. If you need help as far as with boxing, I'm here to help you.”

He further on advised her not to have a rematch soon. “I think that she needs some time off to regroup and refocus...They need to build Ronda Rousey back up, her confidence back up,” stated ‘The Money’.

According to him, Holm should be given a few days of reign and a chance to defend her title before Ronda rises up to avenge her throne.
