MMA Rumours: $4.2 Billion bid for the UFC accepted
According to Jeremy Botter of FloCombat, the UFC brass has accepted a bid valued at $4.2 Billion dollars from the ownership group of WME-IMG, the Dalian Wanda Group, The Kraft Group and Tencent Holdings with a view to sell the company.
Although the report is quick to add that the sale has not been completed as yet, this piece of news just confirms the weeks of speculation that has been raging around the potential sale of the MMA giant.
It is also rumoured that in the event of a sale, Dana White is likely to remain in his position as president of the UFC and continue to oversee proceedings, reports WrestlingInc.com
Ariel Helwani noted on his weekly podcast, the MMA Hour, that Dana White, who is largely available to the press and front ends pre and post fight press conferences, has been quite inactive on the media front off late.
This would ,of course, make sense if tied in with the proposition of a potential sale of the UFC.
It is also reported that Fox Sport, which is the UFC’s TV partner had a bid to purchase the company rejected in 2015 as it fell well short of the company’s valuation.
