MMA News: Dana White slaps Anderson Silva's claims of being mistreated in the hands of the UFC!
The Spider Anderson Silva is one of the greatest of all time fighters to ever step in the Octagon and is apparently one of the richest MMA fighters. Without a doubt, he is the most respected UFC Champion ever, but lately, he is been complaining about being mistreated in the hands of the UFC. Now it's Dana's turn to speak.
"Let me tell you what, there's probably some guys that can come out and say they felt like they've been mistreated. Anderson Silva is not one of them. That is a guy who has been far from mistreated. Far from mistreated."
White responded to Silva's statements on an episode of Speak for Yourself on FOX Sports 1.
According to Anderson Silva the company didn't even thank him for stepping up on two days’ notice to fight UFC Lightheavyweight champion Daniel Cormier at UFC 200. Despite reportedly receiving a hefty undisclosed pay of $600,000, Silva points at the UFC for lack of respect the company has for him.
The Spider had his piece to say:
“I will say it again: I’m very disappointed with the way they’ve been treating me, I’m very saddened by all of this. I wasn’t the one who said I was the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, Dana White said it. Maybe he said it to promote his event, or because he really felt that way. We’ll never know the truth.”
Silva hasn’t won a match since he lost his title to Chris Weidman back in 2013 at UFC 162. His past five fights have ended in strange ways. Silva is struggling on the brink of retirement in an attempt to regain the past glory.
He isn't the only UFC fighter to have chosen to voice his disappointment at the way the UFC functions. Mark Hunt, Jose Aldo and Khabib Nurmagomedov are also on the list. All of these fighters feel that they have been stolen by their employer off of what they rightly deserve.
