MMA/WWE News: Nate Diaz apologises to CM Punk

Phil “CM Punk” Brooks will fight Mickey Gall at UFC 203 on September 10th

When you think about baddest MMA fighters on the planet you can’t help but think of the Diaz Brothers. Popularly known for their bad-ass attitude and being hardcore fighters at heart, CM Punk reveals the softer side of one of the brothers, Nate.

The whole pro-wrestling and MMA world was ablaze when CM Punk announced his signing with the UFC on December 6th, 2014 at UFC 181. Being granted with a UFC contract is almost a miracle for many MMA contenders out there.

But when Punk signed with the organization without any prior MMA experience, it wasn’t received well by the fighters as they invest years fighting for ‘peanuts’ just to make an impressive resume for getting a substantially more cash-making UFC contract.

One of the critics was none other than Nate Diaz, who took his time to trash Punk’s direct entry to the UFC with 0-0 fight record.

However Punk recalls his recent encounter with the UFC 202 star, who surprised him with some kinds words:

“UFC 200 I was doing an autograph signing and the guy I was signing the autograph for started like pointing behind me and I heard someone like yelling my name and I turned around and I was on a riser and Nate Diaz was on the ground and he was like ‘hey man come here’,”

Punk said according to Bloodyelbow.com. “I was like ‘what’s up?’ and he was the nicest (expletive) guy.”

Punk continued- “I don’t know if he’’ gets mad and this will ruin the image of Nate Diaz, but he was like ‘hey man, I talked some (expletive) before and I don’t know you and I’m sorry’ and he’s like, ‘Gilbert (Melendez) and Ronda (Rousey) said that you’re a cool dude and they love you’ and I started looking around for the cameras.

I was like all right. I thought that was super, super cool of him. Super nice guy.”

The former pro-wrestler will make his long awaited MMA debut at UFC 203 against Mickey Gall.
