MMA News: Nate Diaz shoots an online taunt at Conor McGregor after his remarks regarding a third battle of a trilogy
Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor put on a show that got non-MMA followers tuned in to check out the brawl. Even boxing pundits like Stephen A Smith analysed and spoke about the duo’s fights, on their shows.
Now the world wants a third fight, but Conor McGregor opposes an immediate fight, stating that Diaz has received enough damage on his face for now. But Diaz feels differently.
The Notorious one when asked about a trilogy between the two, on a Facebook Q&A by fans, opposed the idea by stating:
"There was a lot of damage done to Nathan in that last fight. Even looking at his facial features, they are not the same, so I know those close to him will understand what I'm talking about.”
Despite the fact that McGregor is open for a match in the distant future, Diaz didn’t buy it. The Stockton fighter didn’t take long to respond to his foe with an Instagram post that indicated that McGregor left the arena with crutches after his fight with Diaz at UFC 202.
McGregor did inde injure his shin after landing some hard leg kicks on Diaz initially during the fight that left him to leave the arena with crotches. As for Diaz, he had enough lacerations on his face, which left his face almost disfigured.
The two battles between the UFC warriors are ranked in top five highest generating pay-per-views in the UFC, with their latest fight at UFC 202 topping the list.
The rivalry between the two is one of the most talked about in MMA right now. This does call for a third fight between the two, as McGregor has stated that a potential fight between them could take place in the future for the Lightweight Title if he wins the belt at UFC 205.
McGregor has firmly stated after UFC 202 that he wants the third fight at 155 pounds. This might probably mean The Notorious one had the idea of a lightweight title fight with Diaz on his mind, for a long time.
Nate Diaz has made it clear that he will accept the fight only if it brings a lot of gold in his pocket, and advised McGregor on not accepting fights unless a third fight between the two was offered. But the featherweight champion had other plans. He will fight for the UFC Lightweight belt against Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205.
The UFC President Dana White opposed the idea of a third match between the two warriors but acknowledged the fact that it would be hard to keep them away for a long time as they want to hit the Octagon for the third time, at 155 pounds this time. The score is even.
