3 fighters with the most to prove at ONE Friday Fights 81: Superbon vs. Nattawut
ONE Friday Fights 81 is shaping up to be one of the biggest and best cards of the year for striking fans.
The promotion returns to Lumpinee Stadium on Sept. 27 where some of the biggest names on the roster have got a point to prove.
Here are three fighters that will look to make a statement with their performances:
#1. Takeru
Japanese superstar Takeru Segawa came up short on his ONE Championship debut earlier this year.
Though there is no shame in losing to Superlek in the fashion that he did at ONE 165, 'The Natural Born Crusher' is back with a vengeance.
He will look to show levels in his encounter with lethwei fighter Thant Zin so that he can continue to stay at the elite level of kickboxing.
With a dream fight against Rodtang Jitmuangnon potentially hanging in the balance, Takeru will look to show everyone what he is made of.
#2. Nong-O
Former bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Hama is not ready to walk away from the sport just yet.
The veteran competitor returned to the win column last time out after back-to-back stoppage losses.
Now, he faces rising contender Kiamran Nabati in a fight that will really show how much fuel he still has left in the tank.
He's determined to prove that at 37 years old, he's still one of the best in the world.
#3. Hiroki Akimoto
The recent results of Japanese kickboxer Hiroki Akimoto do not reflect his skill level.
A former bantamweight kickboxing world champion, he has been on the wrong end of two incredibly close decision verdicts in his recent outings.
He will now look to bounce back by defeating Ilias Ennahachi in one of the night's most anticipated encounters.
Crucially, he will look to get his hand raised without needing the judges to make another tough call.
