3 reasons why ONE Friday Fights 81: Superbon vs Nattawut is a must-watch
Striking fans rejoice, one of the biggest cards of the year is nearly upon us with ONE Friday Fights 81 on Sept. 27.
ONE Championship returns to Lumpinee Stadium for a stacked night of exciting match-ups that could produce the best event of the entire series to date.
There's plenty to get excited about here from top to bottom but if you're looking for three reasons to tune in, behold:
#1 All roads lead to Tawanchai in the main event
The main event of the evening pits two of the top Thai strikers in the world right now against one another.
For Jo Nattawut, he has a lot on the line in this fight given that he is already set to fight for the featherweight Muay Thai world championship at ONE 169.
This means that if Superbon gets his hand raised, he could put a damper on his much-awaited trilogy with Tawanchai, with whom he took to the wire on two separate occasions.
The interim featherweight kickboxing world champion will be looking to spoil the party and perhaps even take Nattawut's place in Atlanta.
#2 Takeru eyes redemption in return fight
Striking fans should know already that when Takeru Segawa is in action, you stop what you're doing.
After coming up short on his ONE debut in a classic fight with Superlek in January, 'The Natural Born Crusher' is out for redemption.
He takes on lethwei fighter Thant Zin in a clash that is sure to produce a barnburner given both men's styles.
#3 Former champs Akimoto and Ennahachi collide to regain lost glory
One of the most pivotal clashes on the card sees two former champions look to separate themselves in the bantamweight kickboxing division.
After having his long-awaited return ruined by Wei Rui at ONE Fight Night 22, Hiroki Akimoto looks to do the same to Ilias Ennahachi.
Both men have reached the pinnacle in the past and now, one of them can look to take a big step forward by getting their hand raised.
