"A fight is a fight" - Christian Lee recalls incredible career-defining comeback win over Kiamrian Abbasov

Christian Lee relied on pure killer instinct when he defeated former ONE welterweight MMA world champion Kiamrian Abbasov. The reigning two-division world champion is getting back in the ring after two years and is now ready to defend his lightweight crown this November at ONE 169.

With his comeback fight against Alibeg Rasulov booked, 'The Warrior' is eager to prove why he's still a dangerous force to contend with, despite his time away.

Taking us down memory lane, Lee explained what went through his mind when he turned a first-round knockdown by Kiamrian Abbasov into a career-defining upset that won him his second world title.

Speaking to Cage Press, Lee explained how the course to victory never faltered even after experiencing early adversity.

"But going into the fight, my mindset was really, second round onward -that's how the fight was going to play out in my head. Aside from getting caught by that punch, I planned to fix that and make sure that mistake doesn't happen again. But I did see myself out-striking him, out-wrestling him and then finishing him. That was always the plan, just, you know, a fight is a fight. You can't really predict those kinds of things."
