"A happy fighter is a dangerous fighter" - Jonathan Haggerty shares the perks of fighting at bantamweight

Two-sport world champion Jonathan Haggerty is a much happier man these days.

While owning the bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing belts will put a smile on anyone's face, it's the simple joy of having a more flexible diet that keeps the British slugger in a great mood.

In an exclusive interview with ONE Championship, Haggerty expressed delight over the fact that he's freed from the restraints of cutting down to 135 pounds.

He said:

"It's a massive advantage, you know? Happy, eating what you want, obviously clean. No calorie deficit at the moment."

Needless to say, moving up a weight class is the best decision Jonathan Haggerty has made in his professional career. Apart from the obvious physical advantages, Haggerty says the mental clarity from his move allowed him to reach even greater heights.

'The General' continued:

"So a happy fighter is a dangerous fighter, and that's what I am right now. I'm a happy fighter and I'm dangerous."

While Jonathan Haggerty has evolved since moving to 145 pounds, he wants to make sure Superlek Kiatmoo9 won't have the same experience in his bantamweight debut.

The double champ will put his bantamweight Muay Thai crown on the line at ONE 168: Denver against 'The Kicking Machine,' who's out for two-division and two-sport supremacy.

Tickets for this historic card on Sept. 6 are available via Ticketmaster. The card will take place at the Ball Arena, home of the NBA's Denver Nuggets.

Jonathan Haggerty says ONE 168 will determine the pound-for-pound best

In the same interview with ONE, Jonathan Haggerty talked about the magnitude of this epic showdown between two of the finest strikers on the planet.

He said:

"[Superlek's] the best in flyweight, I'm the best in bantamweight. So, why not put us together and see who is the best?"

'The General' has indeed inserted himself into the conversation of the elite of the elite not just in the promotion, but perhaps among the best in the world.

We're about to find out who's the greatest of them all at ONE 168: Denver.
