Adrian Lee sees multiple finishing scenarios against ONE 168 opponent Nico Cornejo: "Whatever comes first"

Expectations were always going to be a massive aspect of the career of Adrian Lee once he made the decision to turn professional. There aren't many fighters out there who will attract a lot of attention from the moment they make that first walk.

The Lee family has earned a reputation for having success in mixed martial arts through former ONE atomweight MMA world champion Angela, current two-weight world champion Christian, and, of course, the late Victoria.

Adrian now hopes to follow in these same footsteps, and he's off to a strong start after winning his pro debut via submission in the second round.

Fans saw a glimpse in that fight at ONE 167 of what he is capable of with straight-out-the-gate aggression, dominant grappling, and finishing ability.

He now hopes to earn a second consecutive finish when returning at another of the year's biggest events, ONE 168. Lee spoke in a recent interview with ONE Championship about how he doesn't intend to go the distance with Nico Cornejo:

"I plan on finishing it first round, either TKO, KO, or submission, whatever comes first."

Composure is key for Adrian Lee

Adrian Lee may be looking to get the finish, but remaining focused is ultimately the most important thing for him.

Arguably the most impressive aspect of his last performance was how he was able to keep calm and continue working for the finish, rather than rushing things and making a mistake.

Nico Cornejo may also be relatively inexperienced in his pro career, but in this game, all it takes is one slip for the result to flip.

Lee has great people around him and a good head on his shoulders.

Now, it's about turning potential into reality, and the only way to do that is to continue winning and improving whenever possible.

Tickets for ONE 168: Denver are available via Ticketmaster.
