"Adriano is a beast" - Fans a mix of amazed and dazed after Adriano Moraes overcomes eye injury in victory over Eugene Toquero

Brazilian submission specialist Adriano Moraes channeled his inner boogeyman when he fought Filipino standout Eugene Toquero in March 2016 at the ONE: Union of Warriors card in Yangon, Myanmar.

Moraes suffered a massive hematoma on his right eyebrow, which shut his right eye, but he was still able to pull off the victory.

ONE Championship recently reposted the highlights of that incredible win by the former ONE flyweight MMA world champion on Instagram:

'Mikinho' sustained the swelling from a left knee that Toquero landed during the opening round. This also resulted in Moraes tasting his own blood during the match.

However, his resiliency and grit still powered him into a first-round submission victory in the waning seconds of the frame to pick up his fourth win in the promotion.

This never-say-die attitude of Moraes has garnered positive messages from fans, as users @sk_ashik_al_moid, @kalisa_emmnl, @fishermanz.420, and @georgedimbles commented:

"That's adrenaline boost 🔥🔥🔥"
"Adriano is a beast 🔥🔥🙌"
"Savage.😈"
"You have to be pretty good to beat Mighty Mouse of all people."

Adriano Moraes plans to use Danny Kingad match to punch a ticket to a world title fight

On Nov. 8, the American Top Team and ConstrictorTeam representative will face Filipino star Danny Kingad in a flyweight MMA rematch at ONE 169 inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Ahead of their second meeting, Moraes talked to ONE Championship in a recent interview and suggested that a win against the Lions Nation MMA athlete would guarantee him a shot for the vacant 26-pound golden belt of their weight class, as he stated:

"There will be other fights between other contenders to see who will be able to fight for the belt. But I believe that if I win this fight, the next one will be for the belt."

The stacked ONE 169 card will emanate inside the Lumpinee Stadium on Nov. 8, and North American viewers with an active Prime Video subscription can catch all the action live and for free.
