Adriano Moraes on biggest advantage in Danny Kingad rematch: “He knows that my jiu-jitsu is better than his”
Former undisputed ONE flyweight MMA world champion and current first-ranked contender 'Mikinho' Adriano Moraes of Brazil is coming into his highly anticipated rematch against Filipino archrival 'The King' Danny Kingad this weekend with a lot of confidence.
Having already beaten the former Team Lakay member once several years ago, Moraes knows he has one very big advantage over Kingad. And he believes the new Lions Nation MMA representative knows it, too.
Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Moraes says he's simply the superior grappler.
The 36-year-old American Top Team / Constrictor Team representative stated:
"In the first fight, I managed to take him down and work my jiu-jitsu well, so he knows that my jiu-jitsu is better than his."
Moraes and Kingad are set to run it back seven years after their initial encounter at ONE: Legends of the World in November 2017. In that fight, Moraes won via first-round submission, in what was a disappointing performance from Kingad in front of his Filipino hometown crowd.
Now, the two are ready to rehash their rivalry with a shot at the vacant ONE flyweight MMA world title potentially at stake.
It all comes to a head at ONE 169 when Moraes and Kingad throw down in Bangkok.
