Adriano Moraes can’t wait to reunite with family, friends after living in America for a decade

Former ONE flyweight MMA world champion and current first-ranked divisional contender 'Mikinho' Adriano Moraes of Brazil has spent the majority of his life in the last 10 years working on his craft while training at American Top Team in South Florida.

But because of his dedication to furthering his mixed martial arts career, Moraes says he has had to sacrifice a lot of his time with family back home in Brazil.

When his career is all said and done, however, Moraes says he can't wait to go home and make up for lost time.

He told Combate in a recent interview:

"I've been living [in the U.S.] for almost 10 years, right it's eight years. I miss my mother in Brazil, I miss my friends and everything like that."

Today, Moraes is one of the most accomplished MMA fighters in history. Next week, he has the chance to resume his career and make history once again.

Needless to say, fans can't wait to see Moraes back in action, and against another dangerous adversary.

A victory for 'Mikinho' could mean a fastrack to another shot at ONE Championship gold, now that Demetrious Johnson has retired and vacated the belt.
