Adriano Moraes on chance to debut inside revered Lumpinee Stadium at ONE 169: "Gonna be really good for my legacy"

Adriano Moraes is certainly excited about fighting at the Mecca of Muay Thai in Bangkok this Friday.

The former ONE flyweight MMA king is slated to battle former foe Danny Kingad on a stellar ONE 169 card at the famed Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Even after being out of action for more than a year, Moraes is confident that his all-around skillsets will do the talking for him.

But for now, he's just absorbing everything. Speaking to Sports Illustrated last week, Adriano Moraes explained:

"Bangkok is the only capital in Asia that I never fought. So for me, it's gonna be really good for my legacy. And it's a dream come true to fight in Lumpinee Stadium, where a lot of good warriors have fought.

He continued to add:

"So for me, it's gonna be good anyway...If I can be really good and healthy, I'll be ready to fight on the US card next year for sure."

Over the years, Adriano Moraes was fortunate enough to have fought inside many legendary venues in Asia, including Singapore, Manila, and Macau.

But most memorably, he co-headlined the first US event in Colorado last May, alongside flyweight GOAT Demetrious Johnson at ONE Fight Night 10.

ONE 169: Malykhin vs Reug Reug airs live in North America via Prime Video.

"You always have to be grateful for everything" - Adriano Moraes accepts the ups and downs in both life and career with a growth mindset

There are no negative experiences that Adriano Moraes goes through that keep them in the dumps for long, even after losing his championship belt to Demetrious Johnson in 2022.

Moraes then attempted to reclaim his throne in Colorado, but he was unsuccessful. So, all he can think about now is the good times he had with the retired champion.

Looking back at his last few bouts with the American superstar, Moraes told ONE:

"Regardless of victory or defeat, the lesson that remains is to recognize that life has these things, that one day you are on top, and the next you are at the bottom. One day you are the champion, and the next you are the contender. But you have to always be grateful for everything."
