Adriano Moraes looking to showcase striking prowess in trilogy bout with Demetrious Johnson
Adriano Moraes is ready to put a stamp on his highly anticipated trilogy bout with Demetrious Johnson at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video this spring.
After splitting highlight-reel knockouts against one another in their previous two meetings, the flyweight greats will step inside the circle for the third time in a headlining bout on May 5 when ONE Championship makes their long-awaited debut in the United States.
Speaking about his upcoming bout with the South China Morning Post, Moraes revealed that his goal is to deliver another spectacular knockout, reclaiming the ONE flyweight world title in the process:
“I can’t wait to take my belt back and be the winner in this trilogy. But of course, I want a knockout again. I want to move a lot and give my best and show my Muay Thai skills.”
Adriano Moraes delivered a shocking knockout of pound-for-pound great Demetrious Johnson in their first meeting at ONE on TNT I in April 2021. 16 months later, ‘Mighty Mouse’ would even the score with a brutal fourth-round flying knee knockout at ONE on Prime Video 1 in August. With the series tied and 1-1, fans will be treated to one of the most exciting events in MMA: the trilogy bout.

Demetrious Johnson excited to close out his trilogy with Adriano Moraes in the United States
For the first time since signing with ONE Championship in 2019, Demetrious Johnson will get the opportunity to compete in his home country on May 5 when ONE Championship heads to the 1stBank Center in Colorado.
Discussing the upcoming trilogy fight against his flyweight division rival, ‘Mighty Mouse’ said:
"Super excited about that... May 5th, Colorado, Broomfield. Looking forward to my trilogy with Adriano Moraes for the flyweight belt. I’m just gonna go out there and do my thing."
After dominating North America for years, Johnson put his skills to the test in the biggest global combat sports promotion in the world. Since then, DJ has continued right where he left off in the United States, capturing the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix title before becoming a ONE world champion in August 2022.
With his career beginning to wind down, Johnson will attempt to solidify his status as the greatest flyweight fighter in MMA history with another spectacular showing against eight-time former titleholder Adriano Moraes.
