Adriano Moraes refuses to dwell too much on the future ahead of his return: "I try to enjoy the present"

Adriano Moraes has achieved a lot during his time in ONE Championship, where he has spent most of his pro career. The former ONE flyweight MMA world champion leaves has already built a great legacy, but looking back isn't something that interests him.

For the time being, he's only focused on the next obstacle in his way because there will be time to look back when he is locked in with his opponent. That next obstacle in question right now is the third-ranked Danny Kingad, who he will face at ONE 169 on Nov. 8.

Adriano Moraes has spoken about a change in motivation for this fight but despite this, he told Sports Illustrated that his mindset when it comes to the future has remained the same. He said:

"I'm that kind of athlete that always focuses just on my next fight, I try to enjoy the present. I try to leave the future in the God's hands. But for sure, trying to make the plans."

Adriano Moraes, who sits at the top-ranked spot in the loaded flyweight MMA division, will be making his long awaited return to competition at ONE 169 on November 8.

The last time that ONE Championship fans saw him compete, he was headlining ONE Fight Night 10 in his trilogy fight with Demetrious Johnson for the flyweight world championship.

Despite coming up short in their third and final meeting, Moraes has clearly not lost a step so whatever was working for him in the past, is sure to still be successful.

We will find out whether he can climb back to the top of the division by beating Kingad in a rematch at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
