Adriano Moraes reveals Danny Kingad’s most important strength ahead of rematch: “He is a very dynamic athlete in striking”
Former undisputed ONE flyweight MMA world champion and current first-ranked contender 'Mikinho' Adriano Moraes of Brazil knows pretty much what he's getting himself into when he takes on Filipino archnemesis 'The King' Danny Kingad again this weekend in Bangkok.
Moraes and Kingad are set for an epic rematch seven years in the making, and though both men have improved immensely since their last encounter, 'Mikinho' says he can expect a lot of the same things from 'The King'.
Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Moraes shared his thoughts on Kingad's strengths, and what he plans on doing in the rematch.
The 36-year-old American Top Team / Constrictor Team representative stated:
"He is a very dynamic athlete in striking. He has some wrestling scrambles that are very characteristic of Team Lakay, his former team, so he defends well in jiu-jitsu. But that’s what I’m going to work on to counter-attack."
Moraes first met Kingad at ONE: Legends of the World at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines, in November of 2017. 'Mikinho' needed less than one round to take care of business against the budding star, and he is confident he can pull it off again when the two run it back again in a few days.
