Adriano Moraes wants his world title back for Christmas and more

All Adriano Moraes wants for Christmas is the ONE flyweight world championship back. Unfortunately, Santa Clause likely can’t deliver on that wish, but luckily for Moraes, he’ll have the opportunity to get ONE Championship gold back around his waist in 2023.

As announced by ONE, the promotion will make its long-awaited debut in the United States on May 5 with ONE on Prime Video 10. Airing live on Amazon Prime Video from the 1stBank Center in Colorado, the event will be headlined by a thrilling trilogy bout between Moraes and the reigning ONE flyweight world champion, Demetrious Johnson.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Adriano Moraes shared his Christmas wish with the promotion and snuck in one other gift idea for anybody reading.

“As a Christmas present, I would very much like to get my title back. I believe I was born to have this ONE Championship belt. And the other gift that I would really like to win is a ticket to go to a live Jamiroquai concert.”

For those born after the 90s, Jamiroquai is an English funk and acid jazz band from London. Formed in 1992, the band skyrocketed to the top of the music charges with their 1996 single, Virtual Insanity. Fans may also be familiar with their song Canned Heat as the fictional character Napoleon Dynamite danced to in the 2004 film of the same name.

Adriano Moraes knows he did his best in rematch with Demetrious Johnson

Adriano Moraes suffered the first knockout of his storied career in his rematch with Demetrious Johnson at ONE on Prime Video 1. In an interesting twist of fate, it came 16 months after Moraes handed Johnson his first career loss by way of knockout. Despite coming up short in the rematch, Moraes can find peace in knowing that he gave it his all.

“I suffered the first knockout defeat of my career. This had never happened to me. But as I’ve been in this sport for a long time, I knew it could happen to me someday. I was very upset with this defeat, but despite everything, I am aware that I did my best.”

With both fighters going into their trilogy bout at 1-1, splitting equally impressive knockouts with a well-placed knee, fight fans are in for a treat when the two warriors clash for the final time in front of a live American audience on May 5, 2023.
