After Sean O'Malley, Umar Nurmagomedov issues ultimatum for Merab Dvalishvili to accept their fight: "I won't wait for him"
Top-ranked UFC bantamweight Umar Nurmagomedov doesn't want to waste any time getting back inside the octagon - even if it means not fighting for the title against Merab Dvalishvili. After his massive win over Cory Sandhagen back in August, the younger cousin of Khabib Nurmagomedov was given a guaranteed shot at his division's belt in his next bout.
With a new champion crowned in Merab Dvalishvili at Noche UFC 306 last month, 'Young Eagle' is expecting the Georgian champion to sign the dotted line soon.
Umar Nurmagomedov issues an ultimatum for the champ on X:
"If Merab [Dvalishvili] is going to avoid me, I won't wait for him. And I'll fight with anyone UFC suggests before ramadan."
This is quite an interesting ultimatum by the Dagestani wrestling specialist. While other fighters would sit out the months while waiting for a guaranteed title shot, Nurmagomedov wants to keep himself active. If he plans to fight before Ramadan next year, the 'Young Eagle' looks to fight in the next four months or so.
Before Umar Nurmagomedov, Sean O'Malley also issued ultimatum for Merab Dvalishvili
It seems the upper echelon of the UFC bantamweight division is eagerly awaiting Merab Dvalishvili's next move. Just weeks after dropping the belt to the Georgian champion, Sean O'Malley is already looking for a rematch by the end of 2024.
This may stem from the fact that 'Sugar' adamantly believes that he was the true winner of their fight at Noche UFC 306. The former 135-pound champion threw down the gauntlet in a tweet:
"If unibrow and Merab don’t fight by the end of the year I’m fighting Merab in March. 🖕🏽 s*ck my s*c if you don’t like that."
