Ailin Perez slams Tracy Cortez for UFC Denver weigh-in day drama: "What a waste of opportunity"
Ailin Perez is disappointed at Tracy Cortez for almost fumbling her main event fight against Rose Namajunas.
Cortez is set to take on 'Thug Rose' in the main event of UFC Denver as a short-notice replacement for Maycee Barber, who was forced out of the bout due to medical complications.
With a record of 11-1 in MMA, Cortez is one of the most promising women's flyweight contenders in the promotion. Winning against the former strawweight queen will surely elevate her standing in the division.
However, earlier at the official weigh-ins for the event, the 30-year-old initially missed the weight by half a pound. Nevertheless, she returned later with a considerable amount of her hair cut off to successfully tip the scales.

Perez, for one, is furious at Cortez for almost fumbling her fight against Namajunas. In an Instagram story, the Argentinian mixed martial artist wrote:
"Wow, @cortezmma you really had to cut your hair to make weight. You were gifted an amazing opportunity to be a main event versus a former UFC champ and you barely made it. LOL, what a waste of an opportunity, you are showing your lack of preparation for a moment so big."
UFC Denver is scheduled for Saturday, July 13, at the Ball Arena in Denver.
