Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka revisit their iconic UFC 295 face-off ahead of their fight: "No place for thinking"

Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka recently recounted their iconic face-off ahead of their highly anticipated rematch. The bout headlined UFC 295 this past November, which saw the Brazilian earn a second-round TKO win to capture the vacant light heavyweight championship.

Both fighters revisited their iconic face-off on the UFC 303 Countdown episode, where they described the situation and what went into their face-off. Championship Rounds tweeted a clip from the episode, where the former light heavyweight champion mentioned that the face-off is significant for the competitors because of what the message it gives to fans. Prochazka said:

"The face-off moment, there is no place for thinking...You have to show just who you are. And he's [Pereira] a warrior, I'm a warrior, and that's what the people can see."

'Poatan' noted that the face-offs allow him to concentrate and get himself mentally focused on the task at hand. Pereira mentioned that he only thinks about his opponent and the fight itself at that moment rather than outside distractions. He said:

"When facing my opponent, there's a concentration that I put myself in, that I am only thinking about the fight."
