Alex Pereira all praises for UFC fighters except 'dog's a****le' Khamzat Chimaev, labels Israel Adesanya 'warrior'
Alex Pereira showed no respect to Khamzat Chimaev in a recent interview despite praising his rival Israel Adesanya.
'Poatan' is a few days away from his first title defense at UFC 287 against his long-time rival Israel Adesanya. The Brazilian has a long history with the Kiwi, being the only man to knock him out, twice. In the build-up to the fight, Khamzat Chimaev ignited a new rivalry against the champion by calling him out on social media and asking for a fight.
In a recent interview, the Brazilian was asked to describe fighters using one word. He called Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones 'warriors' but when asked about Khamzat Chimaev, he replied by saying:
"Dog's a****le"

Khamzat Chimaev put out a number of tweets calling out Alex Pereira, asking him for a fight. The Russian believes he is the real champion and if he fought the Brazilian he would finish him in the very first round itself. He also offered to fight 'Poatan' in Brazil.

However, Pereira did not take the offer too seriously and disregarded it. The Brazilian is more focused on winning his rematch against Israel Adesanya and solidifying his position as the middleweight king.
Alex Pereira responds to being called a weight bully and if he will move up in weight
Alex Pereira is on the bigger side of competitors in the middleweight division. At 6 feet and 4 inches, the Brazilian towers over most of his opponents and naturally has the reach advantage. During a recent press conference ahead of UFC 287, he responded to an interviewer who asked him whether he would move up to the 205 lbs division:
"Well, people say that I'm big, that I'm too heavy for this division but you know I used to make weight in kickboxing that was one kilo, about two pounds more than now. I always do it with no problem. No, no, right now I'm focused on making history and reign as a champ on this division. Later down the road, my body is going to tell me when it's time to move up."
Alex Pereira is looking to get his name etched in the history books and reign as champion in the middleweight division. The Brazilian definitely has some of the best striking the division has ever seen. However, his wrestling remains mostly untested, which will be a big problem against some of the fighters in this division.
