Alex Pereira's sister addresses knockout win at Karate Combat 50, credits 'Poatan' for showing her "the Pereira left hook"

Alex Pereira’s sister recently shared her thoughts on her knockout victory at Karate Combat 50. Aline Pereira delivered a stunning first-round knockout, flattening Dee Begley with her brother’s signature power punch on Friday night at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Aline unleashed a powerful right hand, quickly followed by a left hook that sent Begley crashing to the canvas. She pounced and unloaded a barrage of follow-up punches, prompting the referee to stop the contest.

In her post-fight interview, Aline said that she had learned the combination from 'Poatan' and praised her brother for playing a key role in her success:

"That’s the Pereira left hook. My big brother’s the one that showed me."

The fight was initially set for the 125-pound division, but before the official weigh-ins, Begley’s team sought a change to a 130-pound catchweight due to complications with her weight cut. Despite the adjustment, Begley still came in four pounds over the agreed limit.

In the end, both sides agreed to move forward with the bout, though Begley was penalized with a 40 percent deduction from her purse.

Salt Lake City has been a triumphant setting for the Pereira siblings this month. The reigning UFC light heavyweight champion capped off his third title defense of the year with a fourth-round TKO victory over Khalil Rountree Jr. in the main event of UFC 307 last Saturday at the Delta Center.

What is Alex Pereira's sister's MMA record?

Reminiscent of her brother Alex Pereira, Aline boasts a kickboxing background, but she is relatively new to the MMA scene. However, her journey in the cage began on a challenging note, as she suffered a loss to Helen Peralta in her debut under the LFA banner in November 2022.

Aline bounced back from her defeat with a unanimous decision victory over Chelsea Conner in June 2023 but unfortunately faced another setback in September against Cheyanne Bowers. She currently holds an MMA record of 1-2.
