Alex Pereira shares hilarious reason behind shaving his head before fights
Alex Pereira is set to make his return to the octagon in the main event of UFC 303 this weekend as he attempts to defend his light heavyweight title for the second time when he faces Jiri Prochazka. 'Poatan' recently shaved his head in preparation for return to action, which is something he has often done before his fights since joining the UFC in 2021.
Speaking on Episode 4 of the UFC 303 Embedded: Vlog Series, the light heavyweight champion explained why he shaves his head before fights:
"I'm going to have the photo shoot tomorrow. That's why I'm having my hair cut today. With this hair, I look like a good guy. It doesn't work. It's good now. They shaved my head. Now they applied a face mask, to make my skin look better, and so I can look good on TV. I need to be ready for war. Chama."

Pereira and Prochazka previously clashed for the vacant light heavyweight title at UFC 295 last November, with 'Poatan' winning the bout via second-round TKO. While many complained that it was prematurely stopped by referee Marc Goddard, the No.1-ranked light heavyweight will have his opportunity to seek revenge this weekend.
Jamahal Hill angling for Alex Pereira rematch regardless of UFC 303 result
Alex Pereira was able to defeat Jamahal Hill via-first round knockout in the main event of UFC 300, marking his first light heavyweight title defense. The No.3-ranked light heavyweight has been vocal about his desire for a rematch, suggesting that the finish was caused by a brief moment where the two fighters were separated.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, The Champ Chat Podcast, Hill claimed:
"Alex has got his own task ahead of him. This weekend, he's fighting Jiri Prochazka, defending the title. Best of luck to you in your fight in this rematch with Jiri because if you lose, I don't give a f**k if they offer me a title shot. It's me and you. You win, I'm going to go starch the next guy and I'll see you soon. You lose, I see you real soon."

Hill has faced backlash for blaming the loss on referee Herb Dean not allowing a clean break and reset, however, he has not backed down from his stance. The former light heavyweight champion will likely need at least one more win to re-enter the title picture.
