Alex Pereira vs. Khamzat Chimaev rumors prompts savage retort from UFC veteran: "Get his teeth cracked"

Rumors of a highly exciting clash between Khamzat Chimaev and UFC light heavyweight king Alex Pereira have been doing rounds on the internet. UFC veteran Joe Riggs recently sat down for a conversation with Sean O'Malley's coach Tim Welch, where he opined on the rumored matchup.

According to 'Diesel', the matchup would not go well for the Brazilian. Riggs shared that Chimaev's grappling might be too much for Pereira and 'Poatan' might meet the same fate as Robert Whittaker did in his fight against 'Borz'.

"That's stupid... [Khamzat's] just gonna take him down and f**king rub him out... Am I wrong? That's a terrible f**king matchup... That motherf**ker [Chimaev] shoots halfway across the cage... I think that's a bad fight... That would be dumb... Pereira is getting taken down and hammered or getting choked or just get his teeth cracked, broken down from getting strangled."

When Khamzat Chimaev spoke about Alex Pereira as an opponent

In the lead-up to his fight against Robert Whittaker at UFC 308, Khamzat Chimaev did an interview with UFC commentator and former champion Michael Bisping. During his time there, the 30-year-old discussed the possibility of a clash against Alex Pereira in the near future.

Chimaev claimed that although Pereira would prove to be an easy matchup for him, he acknowledged the Brazilian's striking power. 'Borz' accepted that Pereira had the power to knock him out in a clash.

"I know stylistically this match for me is easier than other guys. But in striking, I'm honest, I know the guy can knock me out. I know the guy is a good striker. One of the best guys, the hardest puncher, but I'm one of the best grappler-based wrestlers. He is not that."
