Alexa Grasso is excited about Conor McGregor potentially fighting at Noche UFC: "It could be huge"
Alexa Grasso is excited about potentially sharing the Noche UFC fight card with Conor McGregor. The Irishman was forced to pull out of his UFC 303 fight against Michael Chandler due to an injury and a new date for the fight has not been announced yet.
It was recently announced that the UFC 306 event will be rebranded as the Riyadh Season Noche UFC. It is scheduled to take place at The Sphere on September 14 and will be the first sporting event at the iconic building.
Grasso, the UFC women's flyweight champion, will compete against her predecessor Valentina Shevchenko in the headlining bout to conclude their trilogy.
During a recent media interaction with the backdrop of The Sphere, the Mexican fighter was asked to share her thoughts on McGregor potentially competing on the card. She said:
"Imagine that. I would love to share a card with Conor McGregor. I think it could be huge. Our flags are kind of similar. So yeah, it would be amazing to share a card with him."

Alexa Grasso would compete on the Noche UFC card even if Valentina Shevchenko pulls out
Valentina Shevchenko is widely regarded as the greatest women's flyweight fighter in the UFC. Alexa Grasso ended her dominant title reign with a fourth-round submission win at UFC 285. She won their 2023 Noche UFC rematch by split decision in a closely contested fight which left the rivalry simmering despite Grasso's 2-0 lead over 'Bullet'.
Grasso and Shevchenko are rival coaches in TUF Season 32. While there is a lot of intrigue surrounding their trilogy fight scheduled to take place at the Riyadh Season Noche UFC event, Grasso is poised to compete on the card irrespective of the opponent.
According to MMA journalist John Morgan, the reigning women's flyweight champion said:
"If Valentina Shevchenko doesn’t want the date, Grasso says she’ll face Manon Fiorot, instead. #NocheUFC #UFC306"
French mixed martial artist Manon Fiorot is currently the No. 2-ranked UFC women's flyweight contender. The 34-year-old is undefeated in the UFC and has amassed a perfect 7-0 record in the promotion.
In her most recent fights, Fiorot defeated Erin Blanchfield and former strawweight champion Rose Namajunas by unanimous decision.
