Alexander Volkanovski answers if he will ever fight Alex Pereira: "Money talks, mate, money talks"
Alexander Volkanovski recently addressed the idea of a hypothetical fight with Alex Pereira while fielding some end-of-the-year Q&A with fans. Despite the massive size difference, Volkanovski acknowledged the challenge with a practical mindset.
Known for his striking power, Pereira presents a unique threat, especially given his size and knockout ability. Volkanovski, while confident in his skills, admitted that facing 'Poatan' would require a tactical approach, likely focusing on leg control and attempting to secure a takedown rather than engaging in a striking battle.
The former UFC featherweight champion emphasized that, while he would be cautious about standing with Pereira, the financial reward would make the fight appealing. Volkanovski recognized the potential for big money in a matchup like this and joked that if the price was right, he’d take on the challenge.
Shedding light on the matchup on his YouTube channel, Volkanovski said:
"Money Talks mate, money talks. You'd do it? Of course, you would cause you would get some good coin for that. Imagine having to step up and fight that monster... I could see myself being like all right let's do it. I'm hanging onto a leg you know what I mean?"
Volkanovski added:
"I'm a confident guy but I ain't going to stand there with that bloke. Let's be real... I'm going to try and hang on to the legs and try and find that takedown. Because if you don't you're going to be in for some hurt."

Jiri Prochazka eyes third fight against Alex Pereira
Jiri Prochazka is determined to earn a third shot at UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira. He will face Jamahal Hill at UFC 311 in a crucial matchup that could potentially set up a title fight in the future.
Prochazka acknowledges the importance of this fight but remains focused on the challenge ahead. Despite two previous losses to Pereira, Prochazka is still eying a fight against 'Poatan', previewing it as a "fight for life."
Speaking about a third fight against the Brazilian in a recent interview with MMA Fighting, Prochazka said:
“Maybe it sounds crazy or whatever, but I’m working towards being the champion [again]... For me right now [what excites me], if there will be a third fight with Alex, that for me would be really the fight for my life…the first time, when I won [the title], I didn’t realize it was a big thing in my life. I wasn’t grateful for it, I treated it automatically that I would be the champion…and that’s all. I wasn’t grateful for that moment and to be humble with it. So I said to myself ‘I want to go this way one more time."
