Aliff banking on his 'wider variety' of weapons to sleep Walter Goncalves at ONE 169: "Try to use them to finish him"
Aliff Sor Dechapan can practically rely on any weapon within his "Art of Eight Limbs" arsenal to get the job done inside the distance.
The 20-year-old believes it'll open the doors to another blockbuster finish in his strawweight Muay Thai tussle vs former ONE world title challenger Walter Goncalves.
The pair collide at ONE 169 on Nov. 8 inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Before they swap leather, Aliff broke down his path to another highlight-reel moment, telling ONE Championship:
"I'm taller than [Goncalves] and have a wider variety of Muay Thai weapons. I will try to use them to finish him inside the distance."
This coming from the Sor Dechapan man isn't anything out of the ordinary, though.
The young star's reach advantage has played a very influential role in him racking up a 5-2 run in the world's largest martial arts organization.
That, coupled with his one-punch KO power — that has earned him four knockouts in the promotion — has made him a force to be reckoned with, and he'll be game to put in on show once more against Goncalves at ONE 169.
Aliff unimpressed by Walter Goncalves' experience
Despite knowing his Brazilian foe will bring a lot more experience than him, Aliff Sor Dechapan maintains that it will do little to change his opinion of Goncalves.
In the same exchange with the promotion, he added:
“This man has faced elite fighters like Superlek and Rodtang. He seems to be on another level when compared with me. However, he didn’t beat those two. So I think we should be on the same level."
ONE 169, headlined by a ONE heavyweight MMA world title matchup between divisional king Anatoy Malykhin and 'Reug Reug' Oumar Kane, will be available for free to active Amazon Prime Video subscribers in North America.
