Aliff Sor Dechapan-Walter Goncalves strawweight Muay Thai tilt added to ONE 169
A barnburner strawweight Muay Thai tilt between Aliff Sor Dechapan and Walter Goncalves will now join ONE 169 on Nov. 8.
This striking war should entertain the fans to its fullest before the four world title matchups get underway on the promotion's latest American primetime showcase inside the revered Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The former, who represents Malaysia and Thailand, has been in impressive form since debuting on the global stage at ONE Friday Fights 13 in April last year.
Aliff kickstarted his tenure on the promotion's weekly spectacle inside the 'Mecca of Muay Thai' with three knockouts in four successive wins against Rittidet Kiatsongrit, Ratchadej Sor Petjumrat, Yangdam Jitmuangnon and Peyman Zolfaghari on his way to a life-changing six-figure contract to compete amongst the biggest names on the roster.
Though he surrendered his perfect promotional streak to Zhang Peimian and Ellis Badr Barboza, the Sor Dechapan star turned back the clock in his last outing with a spectacular first-round knockout of Zakaria El Jamari at ONE Fight Night 24 this past August.
With confidence in his stride, the 20-year-old hopes to author another trademark finish and narrow the gap to the ONE strawweight Muay Thai world title, currently in the hands of two-sport king Prajanchai PK Saenchai.
Aliff will have a tough day in the office against Walter Goncalves at ONE 169
While the young star is equipped with all the necessary tools to double his win streak at ONE 169, the Malaysian-Thai fighter should have his hands full against someone of Walter Goncalves' caliber.
Goncalves, nicknamed 'Iron Hands' has danced with some of the planet's best strikers throughout his ONE Championship tenure including Superlek Kiatmoo9, Jacob Smith, and Rodtang Jitmuangnon.
Although there have been some losses along the way, the Blackthai CT fighter has proven on several occasions that he has the knockout power and striking dexterity to deliver the spectacular as seen in his destructive first-round knockout of Josue Cruz at ONE 157.
If he can formulate another plan to overcome the range and unorthodox striking of Aliff, the Brazilian martial artist could be on his way to another memorable outing on the global stage at ONE 169 on Nov. 8.
North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription can catch the entire ONE 169 card live in U.S. primetime for free.
