Aljamain Sterling shares three-word response after fan asks if he and Robert Whittaker "got the same wife"
Aljamain Sterling is having a great time on his recent visit to El Salvador with his partner, Rebecca Cruz. The former UFC bantamweight champion shared a few snaps from the trip.
Sterling is enjoying his time off from the octagon. In his most recent fight, he faced undefeated phenom Movsar Evloev in a hard-fought battle. Sterling fell short, losing by unanimous decision, marking his first defeat in the featherweight division.
Taking time to relax post-fight, ‘Funk Master' took to Instagram to photo dump of El Salvador's visit. The post sparked a reaction from several MMA fans:
One fan wittily asked Sterling if he has the same wife as Robert Whittaker, pointing out the resemblance between their partners. The fan wrote:
“Hey, Aljo did you and Robert Whittaker get the same wife?.”
Sterling took notice of the comment and laughingly dismissed the fan's query, writing:
"Haha, nah bro."

Aljamain Sterling wants to return in March, names potential opponents
Aljamain Sterling moved up a division following his bantamweight title loss to Sean O'Malley. In his first featherweight fight, he secured a victory against Calvin Kattar. In his second, he lost to Movsar Evloev.
During an interview with Home of Fight, Sterling expressed his desire to return in March and named a few potential opponents he wants to face:
"I would like to make a March return. If I do get a fight for March, April the latest, I would like to fight Arnold Allen or fight Brian Ortega. I don't feel like that loss to Movsar should push me down the rankings. If anything I almost feel like it should be treated as a [win]. It's weird to say like that because it might come off as a little funny to hear me say that... I shouldn't have to go fighting down the rankings."
He continued:
"I think a March return would be nice. I want to stay busy, especially while I can. This is the first time I've actually been the majority of the post-fight healthy. I want to take advantage of that... I'd be more than willing to play spoiler, and I like the UK fans."
